As much as I want to have more adult characters in anime, it pains me to see mothers and fathers who don’t have an inkling of how they should treat their kids. Worse, some do know how to be good parents but don’t act that way because they’re so busy conquering the world or pursuing whatever lofty (and often demented) goal they have in mind.
